  1. Web Hosting

Subdomains

A subdomain is a subdivision of your main domain that can be used to organize and structure your website's content. With cPanel, you can easily create and manage subdomains for your website.

Introduction

Subdomains can be utilized to create separate sections or functional areas within your website, such as blog.yourdomain.com or shop.yourdomain.com. Each subdomain can have its own unique content and can be configured independently, providing flexibility in managing different parts of your website under one main domain.

Requirements

  • a Web Hosting service

  • an OnetSolutions account

Instructions

To create a subdomain in cPanel, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.

  2. Under the "Domains" section, click on the "Subdomains" icon.

  3. In the "Create a Subdomain" section, enter the desired name for your subdomain in the "Subdomain" field. For example, if you want to create a subdomain called "blog" for your domain "example.com", enter "blog" in the "Subdomain" field.

  4. cPanel will automatically populate the "Document Root" field based on the subdomain name you entered. You can modify this if needed, but it's generally recommended to leave it as the default.

  5. Click on the "Create" button.

cPanel will now create the subdomain, and you should see a confirmation message. Your subdomain will be ready for use, and you can begin configuring it or uploading content to its respective directory.

Remember that it may take some time for DNS propagation before the subdomain becomes accessible online. If you encounter any issues or have further questions, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team for assistance.
