Snapshot
Introduction
A snapshot is a highly efficient method to safeguard your actions on a server. It enables you to capture and preserve the server's state, allowing you to restore it whenever needed. However, it's important to note that a snapshot is not a comprehensive backup system.
Snapshots are particularly useful when you want to make significant changes to your server, such as updates or modifications, but are uncertain about the potential impact. By creating a snapshot beforehand, you can take a "snapshot" of the server's current state. If any issues arise after implementing the changes, you can easily revert back to the snapshot, restoring the server to its previous state.
While snapshots provide a level of protection, they are not intended to replace regular backup practices. It's recommended to have a dedicated backup solution in place to ensure complete data protection and recovery capabilities.
By leveraging snapshots, you gain an additional layer of flexibility and security when making changes to your server, allowing you to experiment and roll back changes if necessary.

Taking a Snapshot
To take a snapshot of your VPS, follow these simple steps:
Log in to your VPS management interface in your OnetSolutions customer area.
Locate the "Snapshot" section or tab within the VPS management interface.
Click on the button or link labeled "Take a snapshot" or similar.
Wait for the snapshot process to complete. This may take a few moments, depending on the size and complexity of your VPS.
Once the snapshot is created, you will typically receive a confirmation message or see the snapshot listed in the snapshot section.
By following these steps, you can easily take a snapshot of your VPS, capturing its current state for future reference or as a backup point. Remember to periodically create snapshots to safeguard your data and configurations, ensuring that you have restore points in case of any issues or changes.
Restoring a Snapshot
To restore a snapshot of your VPS, follow these steps:
Log in to your VPS management interface in your OnetSolutions customer area.
Locate the "Snapshot" section or tab within the VPS management interface.
In the list of snapshots, find the snapshot you want to restore and click on the button labeled "Restore" or a similar action button.
Confirm your decision to restore the snapshot when prompted. Note that restoring a snapshot will replace the current state of your VPS with the saved state of the snapshot.
Wait for the restoration process to complete. This may take a few moments, depending on the size and complexity of the snapshot.
Once the restoration is finished, you will typically receive a confirmation message or see the updated status of your VPS reflecting the restored snapshot.
By following these steps, you can easily restore a snapshot of your VPS, reverting it back to a previously saved state. This can be useful for recovering from system issues, testing different configurations, or rolling back changes. It's important to note that restoring a snapshot will overwrite any changes made after the snapshot was taken, so ensure you have a backup of any recent data or configurations if needed.
