# Delete Your Account

> Ask for your data to be erased and your account closed, and see what the law requires us to keep

Deleting your account goes through an **erasure request** under article 17 of the GDPR. You send it yourself from the console. It closes your account, deletes your prospection data and your preferences, and withdraws your data from our active databases.

<Info>
  **Prerequisites**

  * Be an **owner** of the organization
  * Have no service still running: instances, web hosting, domain names and commitments all terminated
  * Have no unpaid invoice attached to a service
  * Have no abuse report still open
</Info>

As long as one of these conditions is not met, the console shows what is blocking and the request cannot be sent. To terminate a service, see [Billing & Payments](/subscription/billing).

## Send the request

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open My data">
    Go to **Settings > Organization > My data**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check what is deleted and what is kept">
    The page lists the data that would be deleted and the data the law requires us to keep, with the date each retention ends and its legal basis.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the request">
    Click **Ask for erasure**, add anything you want us to know if you wish, then click **Send the request**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

You receive an acknowledgement by e-mail. We answer you **within one month**. This can be extended by two months for a complex request, in which case we let you know.

<Warning>
  Once the request is carried out, your account is closed and you lose access to the console. The content of your services and their backups are destroyed when the services are terminated: retrieve your data before you terminate them.
</Warning>

## Follow your request

The progress is shown on the **My data** page:

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| Pending | Request received, we are reviewing it. You can still **withdraw** it. |
| Accepted | The erasure is running. |
| Carried out | The erasure is complete. The written confirmation is sent to you by e-mail. |
| Refused | The reason is given below the request. |
| Withdrawn | You withdrew the request before it was reviewed. |

## What is deleted

* Commercial prospection data
* Abandoned carts
* Product feedback
* Sessions and authentication factors
* Console preferences
* Activity logs beyond their retention period

## What the law requires us to keep

Article 17.3.b of the GDPR sets the right to erasure aside where retention answers a legal obligation. This data is moved to restricted archival storage and is only used for the purpose that requires it. At the end of these periods, it is deleted or anonymised.

| Data | Retention period | Legal basis |
| - | - | - |

| Contracts, orders and service history | 5 years after the end of the contractual relationship | French Commercial Code, art. L110-4 |
| Abuse reports | 5 years after the last report | LCEN, art. 6 · GDPR, art. 6.1.f |
| Support tickets | 3 years after the last ticket or the end of the relationship, whichever is later | GDPR, art. 6.1.b |
| Identification data held under our hosting provider obligations | 1 year after the end of the contractual relationship | LCEN, art. 6 · decree no. 2021-1362 |
| Console connection logs | 1 year after the last sign-in | LCEN, art. 6 · decree no. 2021-1362 |

The exact dates that apply to your account are shown on the **My data** page.

## Leave an organization without deleting your account

If you are a member of an organization but not its owner, you can simply leave it from **Settings > Organization > Danger zone**. Only an owner can invite you back afterwards.

## A question about your data?

Open a ticket from the console or read our [privacy policy](https://onetsolutions.net/en/privacy-policy). You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
