# [One Click Apps] Apply environment variables to an application

> Upsert the environment variables listed in `envs`, delete the ones whose keys are listed in `delete`, then restart the application so the changes take effect. Variables absent from the payload are kept; at least one of `envs` or `delete` must be non-empty and a key cannot appear in both. Deleting a key the application does not have fails the task. Values never appear in the task parameters. The operation runs asynchronously as an instance task.

    - `404` Not Found

    - `429` Too Many Requests
